Coronavirus News - COVID-19

Due to the coronavirus we are having to clean bins two weeks later than normal,

Please bear with us as we are working hard with the resources we have to ensure that any NHS, Care Homes, Shops, University's, Schools, Hospitals, Hotels, Supermarkets are cleaned as quickly and as regularly as possible.

Personal waste (e.g. used tissues) and disposable cleaning cloths can be stored securely within disposable rubbish bags.

These bags should be placed into another bag, tied securely and kept separate from other waste within your own room. This should be put aside for at least 72 hours before being put in your usual external household waste bin.

We would really appreciate your help and support at this challenging time and ask that you help minimise how the virus is spreading.

How to avoid catching or spreading coronavirus and everyone is being reminded to follow Public Health England's advice:


  1. Wash your hands often with soap and water (do this for at least 20 seconds),
    especially after using public transport.
    Use a sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.

  2. Wash your hands with soap and water often – (do this for at least 20 seconds).

  3. Always wash your hands when you get home or into work.

  4. Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze.
    Then bin the tissue, and wash your hands, or use a sanitiser gel.

  5. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands)
    when you cough or sneeze.

  6. Put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards.

  7. Try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell.

  8. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
